03 April 2010 – FIRST SOFT FROST

28 March 2010

  • Lettuce – Harvested lots of lettuce and planted more Webb’s Wonderful recently.  Webb’s Wodnerful planted last time is growing really well at the moment and forming nice tight heads.  Tasty lettuce too.
  • Garlic is starting to sprout.

13 March 2010

  • Carrot – Harvested 448g
  • Beetroot – Harvested 696g
  • Bush Bean – Harvested 470g
  • Broccoli – Harvested 54g
  • Parsnip – Harvested 18g (Just to test if they were ready)

11 March 2010
Tomato – Tommy Toes (cherry)

  • Harvested remaining tomatoes and removed plants

10 March 2010
Hops – Goldings

  • Harvested Goldings Hops and set them for drying

07 March 2010
Garlic – Purple – Hobart Kitchen Gardens

  • Planted 27 cloves in BED 1 between rows of lettuce
  • Spaced 15cm x 30cm in between lettuce spaced 30cm x 30cm

  • Planted 4 cabbage seedlings in BED 2
  • Spaced 30cm apart in a single row

Brussels Sprouts – Long Island Improved – Hobart Kitchen Gardens

  • Planted 4 seedlings in BED 1
  • Spaced 45cm apart in a zigzag row

Wong Bok (Chinese Cabbage) – Unknown – Hobart Kitchen Gardens

  • Planted 6 seedlings in BED 1
  • Spaced 30cm x 30cm in 2 rows

Parsley – Flat Leaf

  • Planted 1 plant in BED 1

Chives – Unknown

  • Planted 2 plants in BED 1
